With its relaxing setting, Moores End is ideal as a base for exploring the 3 local Wine Routes: Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. There are many excellent restaurants in the area, and a berry farm for afternoon tea just around the corner. Sit beside the pool with a book and admire the mountains, with only the guinea fowl to disturb you. Or, for the more energetic, there's a tennis court!
10 minutes from Stellenbosch, 15 minutes from Paarl and Franschhoek, 45 minutes from Cape Town, 30 minutes to the beach (Strand) and 40 minutes to the Airport.
From Cape Town or the Airport take the N2 in the direction of Somerset West. Take exit #33 (R310 Stellebosch/Baden Powell Drive) turnoff. At the end of the exit ramp turn left and follow all signs to Stellenbosch. After you pass the Stellenbosch Train Station, turn left at the light in the direction of R310 Helshoogte/Wellington. You are now on the R44/Old Strand Road. At the second traffic light turn right into Merriman Street. Go to the end of Merriman street until you come to a distinct traffic circle. Take your first left into Cluver Road. Go through two lights and at the third light you will be at a major intersection. (You will see the entrance of Ida’s Valley across from you.) Turn right onto the R310/Franshoek via Helshoogte Hwy. Drive approximately 8.5 km and Moores End will be on your left. You will pass Tokara, Zorgvleit, Hillcrest Berry Farm and Vuurberg before you arrive at Moores End.
